But saying “no” to single-use coffee cups doesn’t mean you have to start making your own coffee every day, or that you have to give up the community and ambience of your favorite coffee shop…many coffee shops are happy to prepare your favorite beverages in your own personal drink holder, and the DUUN® Tumbler’s generous, 15-ounce size holds most regular drink servings. DUUN® Reusable Tumblers are Easy-Care
Here’s the good news: though many insulated mugs aren’t dishwasher safe, the DUUN® Tumbler’s glass insert is!
While the DUUN®’s stainless steel outer shell is not dishwasher safe, it doesn’t hold your beverage, and so a quick wipe or handwash if necessary are all that’s required. The glass insert, however, can be run through the dishwasher, which is generally more effective at sanitizing and removing stubborn grime, especially in hard-to-reach crevices. Dishwashers can reach temperatures significantly higher than what is comfortable for hands, which is crucial for killing bacteria effectively. Dishwasher detergents are also specifically formulated to break down tough food residue, which can be particularly beneficial for cleaning sticky residue left behind by sweetened coffee, tea or soft drinks. A dishwasher generally does a more thorough job of rinsing beverage containers, too, meaning your next drink will taste as fresh and good as your first – not soapy.
Caring for your DUUN® Tumbler:
- First, remove the lid of your tumbler by firmly holding the outer shell in one hand and placing the heel of your other hand over the lid. Hook your fingers onto the lid and rotate your wrist upward to remove the lid.
- Next, remove the borosilicate glass insert by firmly holding the outer shell in one hand, taking the top lip of the insert in your other hand, and slowly pulling the insert up and out of the shell.
Gently handwash the stainless-steel shell of your tumbler as needed, and wash the glass insert and Titan plastic lid in the dishwasher (the plastic lid should be placed in the dishwasher’s upper rack). When the insert is clean, reinsert it by holding the outer shell in one hand and slowly pushing the insert back into the shell with the heel of the palm of your other hand.
